1.2.  Date-leg filtering

Files collected listed data for a longer period than the one considered for the study i.e. an AMOC file dated 6/6/02 contained flights for the 5/6/02 and the 7/6/02. It was necessary to filter the data in order to keep only flight data for the day or period selected. It also meant that legs of flights starting/ending before/after midnight of the period considered should be deleted. It was then necessary to interpolate the flight position at midnight. For this reason, a filter was developed based on the date and the leg of the flights. The procedure for filtering is described in Table 3.
