Check that reverse thrust levers are in forward thrust position.

WARNING:  PERSONNEL MUST STAY CLEAR OF THRUST REVERSER. ALTHOUGH REVERSER MOVEMENT IS NOT A REQUIREMENT OF THIS TEST PROCEDURE, HYDRAULIC PRESSURE IS AVAILABLE AND UNINTENTIONAL CONTROL MOVEMENT COULD CAUSE REVERSER TO MOVE UNEXPECTEDLY.

(2)  
Check that ground locks are removed from both thrust reverser isolation valves.

(3)  
Check that battery bus, dc bus No. 1 and bus No. 2 are energized.

(4)  
Check that the following circuit breakers on circuit breaker panel P6 are closed:

(a)  
ENG 1 thrust reverser

(b)  
ENG 2 thrust reverser

(c)  
MASTER CAUTION (2 places)

(d)  
DIM AND TEST

(e)  
INDICATOR (9 places)

 

(5)  
Pressurize A and B hydraulic systems using the B electric motor-driven pumps (Ref. 29-11-0 MP).

(6)  
Check that landing gear selector lever is in DOWN position.

D.  Test Isolation Valve Indicating System
(1)  
Check that both thrust reverser override switches are in NORMAL position and that ISOLATION VALVE indicator light is out.

(2)  
Provide a simulated engine run.

(a)  
Open engines No. 1 and No. 2 THRUST REVERSER and the SEC 2 and SEC 5 circuit breakers.

(b)  
Disconnect the D752 disconnect from the engines low oil pressure switch on both engines.

(c)  
Put a jumper across pins 1 and 2 on the D752 disconnect for both engines.

(d)  
Close the SEC 2, SEC 5, and the THRUST REVERSER circuit breakers.

 

(3)  
Move the landing gear handle to the OFF position.

(a)  
The ISOLATION VALVE light will come on.

(b)  
The MASTER CAUTION and the OVHD annunciator lights will come on in approximately 12 seconds.

 

(4)  
Move the landing gear handle to the DOWN position.

(a)  
The ISOLATION VALVE light will go off.

(b)  
The MASTER CAUTION and the OVHD annunciator lights will go off.

 

(5)  
Connect the D752 disconnect.

(a)  
Open engines No. 1 and No. 2 THRUST REVERSER and the SEC 2 and SEC 5 circuit breakers.

(b)  
Remove the jumper from the D752 disconnect.

(c)  
Connect the D752 disconnect to the oil pressure switch.

(d)  
Close the SEC 2, SEC 5, and the THRUST REVERSER circuit breakers.

 

(6)  
Move engine No. 1 override switch to OVERRIDE position and return switch to NORMAL. Check that ISOLATION VALVE indicator light will momentarily come on, then go out.

(7)  
Repeat step (6) with engine No. 2 override switch.

(8)  
Install ground locks at both thrust reverser isolation valves.

(9)  
Move engine No. 1 override switch to OVERRIDE position and check that ISOLATION VALVE indicator light comes on.

(10)
Return engine No. 1 override switch to NORMAL position and check that ISOLATION VALVE indicator light goes out.

(11)
Repeat steps (9) and (10) with engine No. 2 override switch.

NOTE:  If light response is not correct in the preceding steps, test pressure switches as follows:
(a)  
Press-to-test indicator light bulb and check circuit breakers.

(b)  
Remove ground locks from both thrust reverser isolation valves.

(c)  
Disconnect pressure switch electrical connectors (Ref. 78-36-41 R/I).

(d)  
With both override switches in NORMAL position, check for continuity through pressure switches between pins 2 and 3. Move both override switches to OVERRIDE position and check for continuity through pressure switches between pins 2 and 1.

(e)  
Replace pressure switch, if defective, per 78-36-41, Thrust Reverser Hydraulic System Pressure Switch - R/I. If pressure switches are not defective, a switch card fault is indicated. Card is located in Engine Accessory Unit Module (M528).

(f)  
Reconnect pressure switch electrical connectors.


E.  Restore Airplane to Normal
(1)  
Check that both thrust reversers are in forward thrust position.

(2)  
Remove ground locks from both thrust reverser isolation valves.

(3)  
Move ground interconnect switch CLOSE.
