ENGINE GRAVEL PROTECTION VALVE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
EFFECTIVITY
GJ ALL EXCEPT B-2509 and B-2510
1. General
A. The engine gravel protection valve is located below the engine just aft of the nose cowl. Access to the valve is gained by opening both engine cowl panels (Ref 71-11-11, Engine Cowl Panels).
2. Remove Engine Gravel Protection Valve (Fig. 401)
A. Open applicable ENG GRAVEL PROTECT OR ENG ANTI-FOD circuit breaker at P6 circuit breaker panel.
B. Open left and right side engine cowl panels.
C. Disconnect electrical connector on valve.
D. Disconnect valve air sensing line.
E. Loosen couplings which secure valve to engine gravel protection air ducts.
F. Support valve and push couplings towards air ducts to clear valve flanges. Remove valve and discard gaskets.
3. Install Engine Gravel Protection Valve (Fig. 401)
A. Using new gaskets, position valve between air ducts.
B. Secure valve to air ducts with couplings. Tighten bolts to recommended torque.
C. Connect air sensing line to downstream air duct.
