and balance data. Use the following table to determine the Moment/1000 for
anti-ice fluid to complete the Loading Form in the Weight and Balance Section
of the basic POH.
• Total Fluid Reservoir capacity is 8.5 gallon (32L).
• Anti-Ice fluid weight is 9.2 pounds per gallon.

Section 7 - System Description
The Anti-Ice System consists of porous panels on the wing, horizontal
stabilizer, and vertical stabilizer leading edges, a propeller slinger ring,
windshield spray nozzles, heated stall warning system, wing-ice
inspection lights, pumps, sensors, solenoid, filters, pump control unit,
proportioning units, fluid reservoirs, electrical switching, and
associated system plumbing.
28 VDC is supplied through the 5-amp ICE PROTECT B circuit
breaker on ESS BUS 2 and provides power directly to the #2 metering
pump which is operated by a redundant combination of the pump
controller unit and the PUMP BKUP switch. The remainder of the
system, with the exception of the stall warning, operates on 28 VDC
supplied through the 5-amp ICE PROTECT A circuit breaker on MAIN
BUS 1.
Wing and Stabilizer Porous Panels
The porous panels, mounted to the leading edge of the wing,
horizontal stabilizer, elevator horns, and vertical stabilizer, are
designed to prevent and remove ice accumulation by distributing a thin
film of glycol-based fluid over the flight surface. The presence of this
fluid lowers the freezing temperature on the flight surface below that of
the ambient precipitation preventing the formation and adhesion of ice.
Propeller Slinger Ring
Protection for the propeller is provided by a tube which directs anti-ice
fluid into a slinger ring located on the spinner back plate. Centrifugal
action throws the fluid from the slinger ring onto grooved rubber boots
fitted to the root end of each propeller blade.
Windshield Spray Nozzles and Pump
The Anti-Ice System incorporates windshield protection through the
installation of individual spray nozzles located at the base of the pilot
side windshield. Anti-ice fluid is supplied to the nozzles by an ondemand
gear pump located adjacent to the main metering pumps
beneath the cabin floor. In addition, the pump also acts as a priming
pump for the main metering pumps; In the event of a loss of system
prime, the windshield pump may be activated to purge the system of
