TEST OF THE LPC BROWSER INSTALLATION
At this stage, your LPC Browser installation should run. You need to check if this software is working.
1.
Check that the following files and directories exists:

File: <LPC Browser install dir>\Autorun.inf
⇒
File: <LPC Browser install dir>\program.ico
⇒
File: <LPC Browser install dir>\run-ois-control.bat.
⇒
Directory: <LPC Browser install dir>\jre\
⇒
File: <LPC Browser install dir>\jre\bin\java.exe
⇒
Directory: <LPC Browser install dir>\foct-data
⇒
Directories: <LPC Browser install dir>\Manuals (where manuals is the name of the folders of all manuals you want to display)
⇒
File: <LPC Browser install dir>\LPC Browser-data\aib.view

Launch LPC Browser.
For LPC Browser: Click on run-ois-control.bat
LPC Browser should run properly, should display the manuals correctly and DU and pictures should be correctly displayed.
3. Check that the bookmarks, notes and log files are saved in the specified directories.

BURN YOUR CD
At the end of the previous tests, your files are ready to be recorded on CD.
1.
Stop LPC Browser .
2.
Start your CD/DVD recording application.
3.
Create a data disk. You can choose to write your files on a CD-R or CD-/+RW or DVD.
4.
Add your files at the root of your disk.
5.
Choose a proper name for your CD. The name accepts spaces and dots. (E.g.: "LPC Browser")
6.
Check that the file names option is "Joliet".
7.
Start to burn your CD.
Warning: if the two following files are not in the root directory of the CD, autorun will not work:

⇒
Run-ois-control.bat
Note: Do not include “LoadManual.bat” file in your CD

The LPC Browser autorun CD is created. You can test it on the standard platforms. It has been tested on Windows 2000 and Windows XP platforms. The Java version used by these platforms does not impact the functionality of LPC Browser autorun CD.

TROUBLESHOOTING
6.1
JAVA
If LPC Browser is not configured to use local JRE, You have to configure it manually.
Check that JRE folder is present in <LPC Browser Install dir>.
In order to use the JRE embedded in the CD, modify the same line with the following information:
start .\jre\bin\javaw -Djava.library.path=.\\lib -Djrex.gre.path=.\\lib -DJREX_DEBUG=false -Djrex.dom.enable=true -Dfoct.library.path=./lib -Dlog4j.configuration=./conf/log4j.properties -Djava.main.path=. -Xmx512m -jar lib/ois-control.jar file:data/ file:data/ c:/temp/ FCOM file:data/users.xml file:data/ois-control-help.jar file:data/ct-help.jar

CONFIGURATION OF BOOKMARK AND NOTES
When running from an auto-run CD: if using Notes, Bookmark and trace functions, if not set properly, an error message can be displayed “impossible to write bookmark file “ and/or “impossible to write note file” when coming back to home panel or exiting LPC Browser.
