Dual Hydraulic System Failure AFM 4-17-10
1. Altitude ...............................DESCEND TO 25,000 FT OR BELOW
2. Airspeed................................ MAINTAIN 250 KCAS OR SLOWER
3. Yaw Damper .............................................................................OFF
NOTE: This action disengages the autopilot, if engaged at the time.
For approach and landing select the longest runway available with
minimum crosswind component. Then:
4. Plan a wide approach, power on, at 20° flaps.
5. Flap Handle................................................................................ 20°
NOTE: Set flaps to 20° using Auxiliary Hydraulic Pump pressure.
6. Gear Handle..........................................................SELECT DOWN
7. Airspeed..................................................... 175 KCAS (MAXIMUM)
8. Gear ................................EXTEND USING ALTERNATE SYSTEM
9. Gear Position .......................................CHECK DOWN / 3 GREEN
10. Flaps ............................................................................ VERIFY 20°
11. GPWS/GND SPLR FLAP ORIDE .............................................. ON
12. Aux Hydraulic Pump.....................ON (PRIOR TO TOUCHDOWN)
NOTE: The red GROUND SPOILER message light may illuminate during
flap extension. This is due to "spoiler float" and is considered normal.
NOTE: Nose wheel steering will not be available for landing.
Final landing configuration will be gear down, gear handle down,
flaps 20°, AUX hydraulic pump ON.
On touchdown:
13. Use brakes and rudder as required to maintain directional control.
Expect diminished braking capability due to low output of the AUX
hydraulic pump and demand of the brakes.

Combined Hydraulic System Failure AFM 3-17-30
With a loss of Combined system fluid:
1. Utility Pump .....................................................................NOT ARM
Approach and landing:
CAUTION: IF THE FLAP SYSTEM IS THE SUSPECTED CAUSE OF
THE LEAK, DO NOT OPERATE AUX HYDRAULIC PUMP. PULL BOTH
THE FLAP CONT AND THE MANUAL FLAP CONT CIRCUIT BREAKERS
(CPO, B-1 AND CPO, A-1, RESPECTIVELY) BEFORE TURNING ON
THE AUX PUMP FOR LANDING. THIS WILL ENSURE THAT AUX FLUID
AND PRESSURE ARE AVAILABLE FOR BRAKING AFTER LANDING.
NOTE: If it is determined that the flaps are not the cause of fluid loss, set
flaps to 20° using auxiliary hydraulic pump pressure.
1. Flap Handle ................................................................................ 20°
2. Gear Handle .........................................................................DOWN
3. Airspeed ....................................................175 KCAS (MAXIMUM)
4. Gear ............................... EXTEND USING ALTERNATE SYSTEM
5. Gear Position......................... CHECK DOWN / 3 GREEN LIGHTS
6. Flap Position................................................................. VERIFY 20°
7. GPWS/GND SPLR FLAP ORIDE ..............................................ON
Prior to touchdown:
8. Ground Spoilers ..................................................................ARMED
9. Aux Hyd Pump ...........................................................................ON
NOTE: Nose wheel steering and left thrust reverser will not be available
for landing.
After landing:
10. Use brakes and rudder as required to maintain directional control.
Expect diminished braking capability due to low output of the
auxiliary hydraulic pump and demand of the brakes.
11. Use right thrust reverser as necessary for deceleration.
With left engine shut down or left engine FIRE handle
pulled or Combined hydraulic pump failed:
1. Utility Pump .....................................................................NOT ARM
