The following is a list of airplane configuration codes which appear at the bottom of each page of this
supplement to the basic FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual. The codes indicate page effectivity
by serial number. This list contains only the configurations which have been incorporated into this
supplement.

SOD RUNWAY OPERATIONS
INTRODUCTION
This supplement is part of, and must be placed in, the basic FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual
for Airplanes 510-0001 and On. The information contained herein supplements the information of the
basic FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual and is applicable when conducting takeoffs and landings
on sod runways. For limitations, procedures and performance information not contained in this
supplement, consult the basic FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual.
OPERATING LIMITATIONS
The limitations remain the same as those shown in the basic FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual
except as follows:
1. The sod runway must be dry and compacted so that ruts will not be formed by normal
operation of the airplane.
2. The wing flaps and antiskid system must be operational.
3. Takeoffs on a sod runway with flaps UP are prohibited.
4. Approaches to a sod runway commencing with one engine inoperative are prohibited.
5. Takeoffs and landings on a sod runway are prohibited when in icing conditions or with ice
remaining on the airplane. Anti-ice systems must be off for takeoff and landing on a sod
runway.
6. Landings with flaps in the UP or TO/APR positions are prohibited.
7. Maximum airport elevation is 5000 feet MSL.

The operating procedures are the same as those in the basic FAA Approved Airplane Flight Manual
except as follows:
