STANDARD ROUTE DOCUMENT

Introduction
The United Kingdom & Ireland Standard Route Document (SRD) has been designed to assist aircraft operators in constructing UK and Irish portions
of flight plannable routes. The route listings contained in the UK & Ireland SRD should be considered as ‘preferred’ routeings and are not
mandatory, however the routes contained in this document are promulgated to identify optimum routeings for operators with due regard for the
ATC system.
Route descriptions, as listed in the AIPs of both countries remain unchanged however details of restrictions applicable to certain routes are also
contained in this document.
The UK SRD is issued in line with the AIRAC cycle.
How to use this document
The routes are presented alphabetically by airfield ICAO designator or UK/Ireland entry point in straight forward ‘look up’ tables. Any restriction and/or additional information relating to a route entry is indicated in the ‘Remarks’ column. This gives a note number which should then be referenced in the rear of the document. Reference may also be made to applicable RAD restrictions. Details of these may be found on the CFMU website at www.cfmu.eurocontrol.int/cfmu/opsd/public/standard_page/operational_services_rad.html. Some routes have mandatory guidelines, such as those connected with North Atlantic traffic schemes and this information is reflected in the notes. Where MC is referred to in the Min Level column, this denotes Minimum Cruise and is to be considered as the lowest useable level of all the airways along the specified route.

It is a priority for NATS that we encourage as many of our customers as possible to use the UK & Ireland SRD in either Adobe PDF or dedicated database program versions, both of which are supplied on the UK AIS CD-ROM. Whats New
The UK & Ireland SRD contains a number of routeings transiting UK/Irish airspace. Due to the large volume of possible routeings, not all variations of potential routeing may appear in the SRD. A published route portion which does not appear in the SRD may still be filed, as long as it complies with any applicable RAD restrictions. Any queries regarding whether or not a particular routeing is valid should be addressed to the contact details provided on page 2.
