NOTE:  The following procedure makes initial detent setting. Refer to 78-32-01, Adjustment Test for final detent setting with engine operating.
(2)
Adjust reverse thrust detent in control stand thrust lever as follows (Fig. 507):

(a)
Remove thrust lever cover (1).

(b)
Restrain nut (2) and torque cam lock bolt (3) to approximately 20 pound-inches (do not exceed 30 pound-inches).

(c)
Rotate reverse thrust lever to engage roller assy (4) into the minimum power (No. 1) detent on the cam.

(d)
Back out lock bolt until cam slips loose from tapered friction lock.

(e)
Position the reverse thrust lever 87 +1/-l degree from the down (stowed) stop with roller remaining in No. 1 detent.

(f)
Restrain nut (2) and torque cam lock bolt (3) to 25 +5/-O pound-inches.

(g)
The clearance between the cam (5) and shaft (6) shall be 0.005 +0.035/-0.000 inches.

(h)
Rotate reverse thrust lever from down (stowed) position to maximum travel stop

(135.5 degrees minimum from downstop) ten times. There shall be no cam slippage.

(i)
The lever force, measured at the knob 90 degrees to centerline between knob and lever pivot, shall be 11.0 +8.0/-0.0 pounds as the roller moves through the No. 2 detent toward maximum reverse thrust.

(j)
Replace or delete spacer (7) as required to adjust the lever force through the No. 2 detent. Not more than one spacer may be installed.

NOTE:  Spacers are available in thicknesses from 0.03 to 0.12 inch in 0.03-inch increments. Force adjustment range is approximately 5 pounds from no spacer to thickest spacer.

(k)
Release spring force from spacer by restraining guide in depressed position using hole provided and moving reverse thrust lever to stowed position.

(l)
Replace thrust lever cover (1).

(3)
Install reverse thrust follow-up push-pull cable in thrust reverser crank arm (Ref 78-34-32, Thrust Reverser Push-Pull Cable Installation).

(4)
Close reverse thrust isolation valve circuit breakers C276 and C277.

(5)
Remove reverse thrust isolation valve ground lock assembly.

(6)
Perform reverse thrust control system test procedure.
