4.7.6 Minimum flight altitudes
4.2.6.1 An operator shall be perrrlitted lo establish
minimum flight altitudes for [hose roules flown for which

not be less than those established by that State.

4.1.6.4 Recommendatinn.- The State of the Operator

conditions (e.g. severe turbr~lence and descending

J) airspace resrrictions.
4.2.7 Aerodrome operating minima
4.2.7.1 The State of thc Operator shall require that Lhe
operator establish aerodrolnc operating minima for each aerodrome
to be used in operations, and shall approve the mcthod
of delemination of such minima. Such minima shall not be
lower than any that may be established for such aerodromes by
the Scale in which the acrodrolne is locatcd, e,xcept when
specifically approved by that State.
Note.- 77lis Standard does not require the State in tvhidl
rhe aerodrome is located to establish aerodrome operciririg
minirnu.
4.2.7.2 The State of the Operator shall require that in
establishing the aerodrome operating minima rvhich will apply
to any particular uperation. lull account shall be taken of:
a) thc type. performa~lce and handling characteristics of thc
acrop I ane;
b) the composition of the flight crew, their colnpetcnce and
experience;
CHAPTER 7. IIEKOPLANE COMMUNICATION AND
NAVIGATION EQUIPMENT
7.1 Communication equipment
7.1.1 An aeroplane shall be provided with radio
communication equipment capable of:
a) conducting two-way communication for aerodrome
control porposes;
b) receiving rnzteorological information at any time during
flight; and
c) conducting two-way comniunication at any time during
flight wilh at least one aeronautical station ,uld with
such other aeronautical stations and on such frequencies
as may be prescribed by the appropriate authority.
Nore.- The requirements of 7.1.1 arc considered firlfilled
if t h a~bi lity to conduct the cornmrinzcation~s pecified therein
1s cstuhl~shedd uring radio propagation conditions which are
normal jor the route.
7.1.2 The radio communicatio~i equipment: required in
accordance with 7.1.1 shall provide for communications on the
aeronautical crnergency Frequency 121.5 MHz.
7.2 Navigation equipment
7.2.1 An aeroplane shall be provided with navigation
equipment which will enable it to proceed:
a) in accordance with its operational flight plan; and
b) in accordance with the requirements of air t~affic
services;
except whcn. if not so precluded by the appropriate authority,
liavigation for flights under the visual flight rules is
accomplished by visual reference to landmarks.
7.2.2 For flights in defined portions of airspace or on
routcs where an RNP type has been prescribed, an aeroplane
shnll, in addition to the requirements specitied in 7.2.1:
3) be providzd with navigation equipment which will
enable ~t to operate in accordance wtth thc prescrlbcd
RNP type(s); and
b) be authorized by the State of the Operator for operations
in such airspace.
