CHAPTER 1
1.2.2 Some charts produced do not conform to all relevant Standards. It is not possible to implement all the
Standards as published.
1.2.2.1* Some charts produced do not conform to all relevant Recommendations. It is not possible to implement
all the Recommendations as published.
CHAPTER 2
The basic sheet size is 279 mm x 210 mm. This allows more space to portray information.
Charts do not conform to all Standards and ICAO is used in the title. A variety of reasons exists as to why
Standards are not always conformed to.
Geiod undulation is not shown. This will be shown in due course.
CHAPTER 3
3.4.2 A scale of 1.20 000 is sometimes used. Allowed for in 3.4.3.
3.8.1.1 One-per cent slope used in place of 1.2 per cent. At 9 000 m from the point of origin, the surface plane
changes from a 1-per cent slope to horizontal. More stringent Standards applied.
3.8.1.2 For first 900 m of the take-off flight path area, the shadow planes are horizontal and beyond this point to
9 000 m such planes have an upward slope of one per cent. At 9 000 m the shadow plane reverts to
horizontal. A further safety factor is applied. Obstacles within the outer 25 m edges of the take-off path
area do not eliminate obstacles other than those found in the 25-mzone. More stringent Standards applied.
3.8.2.1 b) The width at the point of origin is 180 m and this increases at a rate of 0.25D to a maximum of 3 930 m,
where D is the distance from the point of origin. More stringent Standards applied.
3.8.2.2 The take-off flight path area specified in 3.8.2.1 c) remains at 15 km. The slope of the plane surface shall
remain as specified in 3 .8.1.1 and 3.8.1.2. More stringent Standards applied.
3.9.1 Order of accuracy attained is not shown unless it is excessive.
