are analogous to the stipulations in paragraph 11.7.2 (Instrument Approach Charts), i.e. At greater
distances from aerodromes only high elevations are represented; in the vicinity of aerodromes also small
elevations will be shown.
Remark: Germany has many departure routes as long as 100 NM or more. Aircraft at the outer portions
of such routes would be at considerable heights already. Chart representation of every relief exceeding
1 000 R would mean the change of several hundred charts. Therefore, rules for the restriction of such work
to manageable proportions are indispensable.
The area minimum altitude (AMA) is not shown
*Recommended Practice
CHAPTER 10
10.6.2* Representation in Standard Arrival Charts of significant relief is made conditional on minimum flight
altitudes.
Remark: Due to the relatively high flight altitudes on Standard Arrival Routes, the unconditioned
representation of relief information makes no sense.
10.9.3.2 The area minimum altitude ( M A ) is not shown.
CHAPTER 11
11.10.7.1 Aerodrome operating minima are not established.
11.10.8.2 In Germany, this provision will be extended to enable its analogous use with GPS.
CHAPTER 12
12.4" The sheet size is 210 x 147 mm (A5).
12.10.5.3 Nominal approach slope angle(s) and minimum eye height(s) are not shown. The height of obstacles is
not shown.
CHAPTER 13
13.5 Annual change of the magnetic variation is not shown.
13.6.1 d) Bearing strength of RWY is not shown.
g) Bearing strength of TWY is not shown.
CHAPTER 14
14.5.2* Magnetic variation and its annual change are not shown.
14.6 d) Bearing strength of TWY is not shown.
CHAPTER 15
15.5.2* Magnetic variation and its annual change are not shown.
15.6 a) Apron elevation is not shown.
b) Apron bearing strength is not shown.

SUPPLEMENT TO ANNEX 4 (TENTIE]D ITION) GERMANY 3
CHAPTER 16
16.2.1 The World Aeronautical Chart - 1: 1 000 000 is not published.
CHAPTER 17
17.7.4* Prominent transmission lines are not shown.
17.7.7.1 Contours are not shown.
17.9.2.2 A modified version of aerodrome data in association with the aerodrome symbol is used.
CHAPTER 18
18.2* Aeronautical Navigation Charts - Small Scale are not published.
Appendix 2
Symbol 108 The proposed symbol for ILS Back Course will not be provided.
Symbol 125 In German charts the horizontal limits ofATS airspace are characterized by different colours (red, green,
blue) and not by different percentages of screen for the same colour.
Remark:.The symbol 125 representation of the horizontal limits of ATS airspace provides too little
contrast and is difficult to read in unfavourable lighting conditions.
Symbol 126 This symbol will not be used. The information block is too large and could mask other important chart
information.
Appendix 6
Table 1 Publication of taxiway centre line points and aircraft stand points according to the specified resolution
is not yet possible.
Remark: Implementation proposed 3 1 December 2002.
Tables 1 and 2 In Germany, the description of obstacles reads as follows:
a) "Obstacles in the circling area for non-precision and turning departures and at the
aerodromelheliport";
b) "Significant obstacles in the precision approach and straight departure area"
The accuracy for a) in Table 2 ("Elevation ...") is 3 rn instead of I rn.
*Recommended Practice
Tables 1 and 5 For a few IFR aerodromes, the following positions cannot be published from the date of applicability:
aerodrome reference point; runway threshold; runway and FAT0 length, TLOF dimensions; stopway
length; and landing distance available.
Remark: More time is needed because these positions must be brought into conformity with the declared
distances specified in the aerodrome licensing document (formal act of approval by national
administration).
Table 2
Table 4
Table 5
WGS-84 geoid undulation at aerodromeiheliport elevation position is not published in Germany.
Remark: The MDH for non-precision approachcs is referenced to the threshold position at all German IFR
aerodromes.
In Germany, line 2 ofthis table reads "En-route fix formations" and line 4 reads "Terminal and instrument
approach procedure fix formations" to correspond to Table 5. The resolution for both is 1 degree instead
of 1/10 degree.
The chart resolution for en-route fix formations distance; runway and FAT0 length, TLOF dimensions;
stopway length; and landing distance available is 1 m instead of 0.5 m.
Remark: Implementation proposed 3 1 December 2002.
