Runway Symbol
Represents the airplane’s orientation relative to the runway.
Displayed from 300 feet to 60 feet AGL. Position depends upon
runway elevation, airplane heading, altitude, course setting,
localizer deviation, and system resolution.
Tick marks indicate runway aim point, which
represents 1,050 feet from the runway threshold.
Lines represent outline of runway threshold,
scaled to a width of 200 feet.

During a Category III
approach, message
comes on at 1,000 feet
and at 650 feet AGL,
flashes for 10 seconds,
to indicate that the
autopilot must be
disconnected. An
approach warning
message comes on if
the autopilot is not
disengaged by 500
feet AGL.
