From the bus controller CDU press DTS key and then press LOAD key to down load DTS.

d.
Press NAV soft key, press DO-GPS or the desired soft key to set the navigator mode.

e.  
CDU AMS STS soft key -Verify system status.


*7. MFDs -On. -Check as required. On MFD, press ILLUM ALL, check NAV mode, check COM mode.

Digital clocks -Check and set.

9.
On CDU, DAT soft key -Press to verify the DTS information (COM/NAV/Waypoint pre-sets) is loaded, or set manually as desired.

10.
On CDU, FPN .xed function key -Press, and via FPN1 or FPN2 enter desired .ight plan and ENGAGE.

11.  
BRT/DIM-TEST -Check as required.


NOTE
The switch legend on the VSI/HSI and CIS mode select panels may change when the panel BRT/DIM-TEST switch is set to TEST. (This can also occur in .ight). The original indications may be restored by pressing the applicable switches.
a.  Panel BRT/DIM-TEST switch -TEST. CIS/MODE SEL, and VSI advisory lights on. AFCS FAILURE ADVISORY lights will illuminate.
Nb. INSTR LT PILOT FLT control -ON.
N  c.  Panel  BRT/DIM-TEST  switch  -BRT/ 
DIM momentarily and then to TEST. 
N  d. All CIS/MODE SEL and VSI advisory 
lights  on  at  decreased  intensity.  AFCS 
FAILURE  ADVISORY  lights  will  not 
dim. 

N 12. Interior/exterior lighting -Set.
O.13. Mission equipment -Check and set as required.
a.  
Cargo hook.

b.
Rescue hoist.

c.  
Auxiliary Fuel Management.

d.  
HUD.

e.  
IRCM.

f.
Chaff.

g.
Medical interior (OBOGS, suction, litter lift system).


.*14. Cold weather control exercise -Check if tem-perature is below -17°C (1°F).
*15.  AFCS FAILURE ADVISORY lights -If on, POWER ON RESET.
*16.  SAS1 off, SAS2, TRIM, FPS, and BOOST switches -Push ON.
.17. Flight controls -Check .rst aircraft .ight of day as follows:
a.  
Collective -Midposition, pedals centered, friction off.

b.  
BOOST switch -Press off. There will be a slight increase in collective and pedal forces. BOOST SERVO OFF caution leg-end and MASTER CAUTION light should be on.

c.  
Right SVO OFF switch -1ST STG.No allowable cyclic stick jump. #1 PRI SERVO PRESS legend and MASTER CAUTION lights should be on.

d.
Move cyclic and pedals slowly through full range. There should be no binds or restric-tions. Move collective full up to full down in about 1 to 2 seconds. Check #2 PRI SERVO PRESS caution legend does not illuminate during movement of collective.

e.  
Right SVO OFF switch -2ND STG.No allowable cyclic stick jump. #2 PRI


SERVO PRESS legend and MASTER CAUTION lights should be on.
f. Repeat  step d. above. Check #1 PRI SERVO PRESS caution legend does not illuminate during movement of collective.

If #1 PRI SERVO PRESS or #2 PRI
SERVO PRESS caution legend illumi-nates during collective movement, a servo
bypass valve may be jammed. If this situ-ation occurs, do not .y the helicopter.

g.  SVO OFF switch -Center.
NOTE
During steps h. and i., check for not more
than 1.5 inches of freeplay in control.

h.
Collective -Move through full range in no less than 5 seconds. There should be no binding.

i.
Pedals -Move both pedals through the full range in no less than 5 seconds. There should be no binding.

j.  
TAIL SERVO switch -BACKUP. #1 TAIL RTR SERVO caution legend and both MASTER CAUTION lights, and #2 TAIL RTR SERVO ON advisory legend illuminate. Move pedals through full range in no less than 5 seconds. There should be no binding.
