SX-5 SEARCHLIGHT

Side-mounted, this small, but powerful, searchlight has a typical range of 1,650 feet (500 m.), and has a beam intensity of 15 million candlepower Nightsun. A “joy stick” in the cockpit allows the crew two axis of movement. There is no recycle time required between start-ups.
SX-16 SEARCHLIGHT

Side mounted with gold reflector, this higher output lamp has 30 million candlepower Nightsun. A remote control focus allows the crew to vary the beam width from 4-20°, with a typical useful range for target identification of one mile. NIGHTSCANNER® MOVEABLE LANDING/SEARCHLIGHT

Belly mounted; provides 400K candlepower illumination for hover/taxi over ramps, rough terrain or near unlit obstacles. Also serves as low power movable searchlight and has an infrared option for NVG operations. The system is controlled with collective mounted switches for easy operation during flight.
