2.2 Dangerous Goods Tcchnical Instructions
2.2.1 Each Contract~ng Stale shall take the necessary
measures to achieve co~npliancc with the detailed provisions
contained in the Technical 1~lstri~ction.f.ro r the Safe Transport
of Danqeroln Goods bv Air (Doc 9284). approvcd ant1 issued
periodically in accordance with the procedure estahlishecl by
the TCAO Council. Each contracting State shall also ldkc the
necessary measures to achieve compliance with any amcndment
to the Technical Instructions which may be published
during the specified period of applicability of an edition of the
Tcchnical Ins~ructions.
2.4 2. Where articles and suhstances intcnded as replacements
for those dcscribrd jn 7.4.1 or which have been removed
for replaccmcnl are carried on an aircraft, they shall bc
tl.ansporLcd in accordance wilh the provisions of this ~Znncx
except as perrni tted in the Tcchnical Instructions.
7.4.3 Specific articles and substances camed hy
passengers or crew members shall be exccpted from the
provisions ol' this Aoneu to the cxtenl specified in the
'I'cchnical Instructions.
2.5 Notification ol variations from
the Technical Instructions

2.5.2 Recommendation.- The State of the Operator

opemtor adopts more restrictive requiren~er7ts than zhose
speczped m the Technical Instructions. the notiftcatiorl of s~rch
operator variations is made to ICAO for publzcation in the
Techntcal Xnstn~ctions.
